SAYYID HYDER ALI SHIHAB THANGAL : END OF A REKNOWNED SAGA
: IUML supremo and one of the state's tallest Muslim religious leaders Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal passed away on Sunday afternoon. He was 74.
Thangal, who served as the state president of Indian Union Muslim League for 12 years and also as chairman of its national political advisory committee, had been suffering from lymphoma for over a year. He died at Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly at 12.40pm.
Family sources said Thangal had been admitted to the ICU of the hospital since February 22 and his condition deteriorated on Saturday. He suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday afternoon.also as chairman of its national political advisory committee, had been suffering from lymphoma for over a year.
